This versatile artist is equally at home hanging from a helicopter shooting elephant and rhino captures, tracking the big five for photographic safaris, collaborating with magazine journalists for foreign publication commissions and writing his own travel articles.

There's another side to his artistic talents. Sean creates exquisite, close-up, giant-size works for photographic exhibitions and interior decorators, lodges and hotels, plus smaller pictures and cards. He is also a sculptor and knife-maker of note, with several fine pieces to his credit.

Game Ranger in your Backpack is not a conventional field guide in the sense that it will not provide reams of dreary detail on how to identify a particular plant or bird (although it does offer useful pointers of features to look out for). Rather, this book is intended to substitute the presence of a personal guide or 'game ranger' during visits to the Lowveld region of South Africa.
