This project offers the opportunity to
work on both community based projects and wildlife
based projects, during intensive 14-day, 28-day,
42-day and 56 day programs. The EWVP motto is
‘Conservation through Education and Interaction’ and
we try offer the students a holistic view on
conservation, by showing both the people affected by
Conservation and Conservation issues today.
The program focuses on the
Conservational aspects of running the conservancy
and wildlife in conjunction with the community, the
Animal husbandry aspects of looking after the
elephant, horses and cattle as well as uplifting
community projects
Running the conservancy will require
that students participate in activities such as
anti-poaching patrols, fence patrols, bush clearing,
maintenance of infrastructure, research on wildlife
and flora within the reserve and at times game
capture and release.
The conservational aspect of the
course is the many lectures given at night which
cover many of the issues surrounding wildlife
management in Africa today as well as educational
lectures on animals, plants, birds, insects spoor
(animal tracks) and so on.
